Welcome to the review of the Thrustmaster T300 wheel and pedal set for the PS3 and PS4. The Thrustmaster T300 RS is a high-end force feedback wheel, the fully PS4-optimised brother to the Thrustmaster T300 GTE.
Thrustmaster T300 RS: Design
If you’re a racing fan who has never experienced a force feedback wheel, you need to try one. Wheels like the Thrustmaster T300 RS use powerful motors to let them fight against your turns, simulating the sorts of forces you’d experience in the real world.
It enables things like letting you feel when the back end of your car is about to lose grip around a turn, rather than leaving you waiting to see those tire marks screech out of the car’s backside. This is a level of realism no amount of graphical gloss can provide.
On the plus side, force feedback wheels hold their value even better than iPhones, so there’s little-to-no early adopter tax. But back to the hardware.
The Thrustmaster T300 RS comes in three main parts. There’s the two-pedal board, the wheel base that houses the feedback motors and the wheel itself: it is not fixed.
Detachable, realistic 11 inches/28 cm diameter racing wheel, featuring reinforced textured rubber cladding on the wheel’s entire circumference. Official GT Logo in the center of the wheel.
Comprehensive driving controls: 13 action buttons (including 2 on the base) + 1 D-Pad.
Official PlayStation 4 buttons included (PS, SHARE, OPTIONS): access the new social features by instantly switching between the game and the system, at any time

New dual-belt system
The new 1080° dual-belt system delivers super-smooth and quiet Force Feedback with incredibly responsive, realistic Force effects: feel the road, not the wheel’s internal mechanism.
Thrustmaster Quick Release system
The Thrustmaster Quick Release system lets you quickly switch from one wheel to another – in just a few seconds. This innovative concept gives wheel base owners the option of purchasing separate detachable Thrustmaster wheels, for use with their existing base. Enjoy optimal realism in all types of races.
I mentioned in my review, that it would have been great to have a base to purchase separately, then you can buy your rim of choice and a set of T3PA pedals. If it was like that, a Rim, base, and T3PA pedal set would go for about the same price as the T300 complete set. Maybe even come up with a rim based on the TX 458 Italia without the Ferrari branding to have this package sell for under $300 with the 2 pedal set. I could have also lived without a T3PA set if the brake had some decent progression.
Overall though, this is a great feeling Force feedback wheel and with a T3PA pedal set, or even a T500 set that you can find second hand, this makes for one of the best packages on the market. I honestly prefer this wheel over all others on the PS3 currently.
